D&E Department
The global Development & Engineering (D&E) team curates efficient and agile, global strategies and multi-regional solutions to enable rapid, quality deployments through consistent and scalable products across Vantage’s companywide portfolio. We collaborate with a wide breadth of global peer functions as well as regional teams including Construction, Design, Sales, Operations and management along the way. Position Overview
Vantage is seeking a regional Sustainability Manager to lead Vantage’s environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives in the EMEA region. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Sustainability, this position will work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement initiatives and projects that support the sustainability goals of the company. This position will lead the stakeholder engagement efforts in EMEA to develop regionally specific interim goals and track progress of initiatives. Key priorities include supporting the reduction of the carbon footprint of our data centers along with the overall reduction in the use of limited natural resources including power, water, and materials.
Essential Job Functions
  • Support the development and implementation of Vantage’s global sustainability initiatives with a focus on developing and managing sustainability projects for the EMEA region.
  • Provide education and training to regional teams on sustainability strategies and objectives and collaborate with operations, market development, sales, design, and construction teams on integration of key strategies into business activities that are in alignment with global priorities.
  • Measure program and project performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with regional leaders and teams to implement processes and technologies that reduce GHG emissions, energy use, water use, and waste in both existing facilities and new developments.
  • Lead regional research and analysis related to the development of sustainability strategies that are in alignment with corporate goals and objectives, regional regulations, community requirements and customer goals.
Duties
  • Research and support the implementation of projects and processes related to energy efficiency, renewable energy procurement, emissions reductions, water conservation, and waste reduction.
  • Measure program and project performance and provide transparent reporting of successes and challenges to regional and global leadership.
  • Lead engagement efforts with regional leaders and teams to ensure alignment with sustainability objectives, clearly articulate roles and responsibilities for implementation of processes and technologies that reduce GHG emissions, energy use, water use, and waste in both existing facilities and new developments.
  • Partner with Vantage’s Public Policy team to outreach to local municipalities, utilities and sustainability coalitions (i.e., the Data Center Coalition) to bring Vantage to the table as a partner and active participant in the marketplace
  • Lead regional research and analysis related to the development of sustainability strategies that are in alignment with corporate goals and objectives, regional regulations, community requirements and customer goals - Report regional trends to global team to inform refinement of global strategies
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Environmental policy, engineering sciences focused on sustainability or related field required, Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience managing and implementing sustainability programs required
  • Knowledge of environmental health regulations and sustainability concepts including air quality, greenhouse gas emission inventories, waste diversion practices, energy and water conservation, renewable energy procurement, and other sustainability strategies required
  • Strong understanding of greenhouse gas goals and experience with deploying solutions to drive emissions reductions
  • LEED AP and/or ENV SP accreditations preferred
  • Data Center, high-tech, or rapid growth industry experience is strongly preferred, but not required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to partner cross functionally to solve complex challenges
