We are seeking to appoint 1 permanent Consultant Neuro Radiologist with an interest in Head and Neck at Nottingham University Hospitals. This post is to support the increasing local and regional demand for Neuroradiology imaging during this time.
The successful applicants will share responsibility with 13 other colleagues for the provision of all aspects of Neuro imaging in our Trust with possible future expansion to the Trusts within the regional network.
Main duties of the job
To provide, along with Consultant colleagues, a comprehensive elective and emergency on-call service related to Neuro Radiology.
The posts include sessions for reporting time for Plain Film, MRI and CT, performing ultrasound and fluoroscopy/US guided procedures and participation in multidisciplinary meetings.
The successful candidate will be expected to become an effective member of the team of Neuro radiologists, to be responsible for the care of patients in their charge and to participate in teaching, research, audit and continuing professional development.

We play a vital role in the education and training of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
The post will be primarily based at QMC campus but we do support our regional partners with Neuro imaging and it may be necessary to travel to peripheral hospitals on occasion.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Candidates must hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists or an equivalent qualification and must either be on the Specialist Register, or in possession of a CCT at the time of taking up the appointment. However the department is delighted to entertain expressions of interest from individuals who will be within 6 months of attaining CCT at the time of interview (anticipated in June) or have reasonable prospects of getting a CESR within 1 year.
The post will be primarily located at the Queen’s Medical Centre campus although the successful applicant will be required to provide sessions at the sites where we provide a Neuro Radiology service.
A successful applicant would be required to be part of a dedicated Neuroradiology on call rota, which will have a frequency of 1:8.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
