Our client a major global engineering firm with expertise in the design and delivery of projects in the Scottish Water Framework is looking to expand its delivery team in Scotland by recruiting an experienced Project Manager in Aberdeen. In this role you will play an important part in the delivery of a large, long-term framework. You will enjoy a supportive and collaborative working environment set up to ensure a focus on creativity and innovation with the ultimate aim of delivering quality, cutting edge engineering solutions to their clients. You will ensure all projects are efficiently and economically executed and all regulations are adhered to.

As the Project Manager covering projects largely across the North East of Scotland, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the company in this area. It will be key for you to not only maintain but grow the company’s presence in the area and really drive business forward. Due to the responsibility of the role you will have proven experience of managing various Civil Engineering projects ideally within the water sector.

As Project Manager, your duties will be wide-ranging, encompassing the full project life-cycle and will include:

  • Taking a lead role in liaising with clients and other project stakeholders.
  • Assisting bid teams in developing, efficient, deliverable proposals.
  • Championing safety from inception to completion.
  • Working with the planning team on the development of workable, project programmes.
  • Develop resource plans, identifying gaps and taking a lead role in the recruitment of delivery team staff.
  • Work in conjunction with the commercial team in the procurement of subcontractors, plant, labour, materials and any other goods and services necessary for the safe, timely delivery of projects.
  • Work with the commercial team in the production of monthly cost/value reporting
  • Oversee the delivery of all works in line with agreed milestones.

Essential requirements:

  • Educated to a degree or HNC level in a relevant civil, mechanical or electrical engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience of managing various Civil Engineering projects primarily within the water or power sectors.
  • Possess an extensive level of technical knowledge, understanding, control and responsibility for all civils site activities.
  • Be a pro-active communicator.
  • Full UK driver’s license.
