POSITION SUMMARY:
The QC Technician reports to the Quality Control Manager, working within the Quality Control Department, ensuring compliance with the Company and Department Quality Standards and policies.

MAJOR DUTIES :
To carry out the chemistry and organoleptic assessment of manufactured products and raw materials and prepare samples for dispatch for microbiological analysis

To maintain accurate records of test results including entry onto the computer

Positive release of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods

To ensure that the instrument calibration program is implemented

To participate in the organoleptic assessment team

Actively participate in any internal investigations to determine root cause analysis and corrective actions

To participate in the site’s internal audit programme

Actively participate in the site’s EMP in the taking of swabs/water samples/air plates, prepare appropriate documentation and carry out microbiological analysis of samples.

To have an understanding of the principles, manufacturing processes and ingredients used throughout products manufactured in Felinfach.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
BSc in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or other Science subject is desirable

1-2 years’ experience in a food/flavor laboratory or food industry is desirable

Good communication skills, both written and oral are necessary

An eye for detail and a willingness to see things through

Working closely with other departments to improve the sites Quality Culture

Being commercially aware of their actions

Being tenacious and flexible
