We’re currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst who will join one of our Scrum teams, developing our cloud-based automated testing tool, Kainos Smart, built exclusively for testing Workday. Kainos Smart can quickly create repeatable tests saving our clients significant man hours on testing and gaining much greater assurance on the correctness of their Workday deployment.

Main purpose of the role & responsibilities in the business:

As a Senior Business Analyst at Kainos, you will play a key role in facilitating workshops to effectively gather requirements, establish effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to gain deep understanding of business priorities, analyse data to recommend service improvements, support team and Product Owners to write high-quality user stories and clearly identify any Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies to ensure high quality of feature delivery.

You will be working with a well-qualified and expert team, in the leading Workday partner for automated testing globally, with a customer base of >200, many household names. And we’re growing both in terms of revenues and customers, but also in terms of our service offerings and the team. This is an opportunity to join at a crucial time to put your stamp on our offerings and how we continue to lead in our market.

Your key responsibilities in the role will include:

• Facilitating workshops and discussions to effectively gather requirements and achieve a joint understanding of need
• Establishing effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of business priorities and to support the delivery of business value
• Analysing data to recommend service improvements and making informed decision
• Establishing functional and non-functional requirements and documenting them appropriately
• Supporting the team and Product Owner in order to write high-quality user stories
• Identifying any Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies
• Working as part of a scrum team and supporting the team in delivery
• Modelling business processes to validate that solutions are fit for purpose

Minimum (essential) requirements:

• Significant experience with high-level stakeholders
• Broad, relevant work experience in a consulting firm or other client-facing role
• Demonstrable experience of delivering as part of an agile team
• Proficient in stakeholder management, sensitive to the needs of each stakeholder yet comfortable to challenge where appropriate
• Excellent user story creation skills, articulating the business needs in a format that is easily consumable by the scrum team
• Strong business process modelling skills, capturing existing processes, designing new processes and presenting processes to achieve buy-in
• Highly effective at translating business requirements into cost-effective functional requirements
• A strong understanding of Agile Project Management delivery methodology
• Experience of running workshops with different levels of stakeholders
• Competent facilitator of small groups to achieve focused outcomes

Desirable:

• Experience of working as a product manager and delivering high quality digital products
• Experience of working in the SaaS sector
• Technical background within software or test engineering
• Project management experience across a range of methodologies and frameworks (e.g. waterfall, scrum, Kanban, PRINCE2, MSP etc.)
• Experience of running integration projects will be an asset
