We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our team. You will take ownership of our back-end Operational Data Storage (ODS) team that provides data to customer channels that is critical for the continued operation of ICB products. You will be responsible for developing and supporting solutions that are fast, resilient, and highly available. The ODS team is responsible for delivering transactions, rewards and future-dated payments to our Chase application, CRM, and Open Banking solutions. Additionally, the ODS team owns the Enrichment Platform Services that enrich our data with additional attributes such as categories or merchant information. Finally, it's the responsibility of the ODS team to provide data, support, governance, and best practices for teams querying non-critical data to channels.
You will be supported by a skilled development team to ensure that you can plan, deliver, and support a roadmap that is aligned with the ICB long-term objectives.
You will work in a highly collaborative way within the Product team and across the organisation to successfully deliver strategically aligned product development whilst aiming to exceed your set KPIs.
You will also be encouraged to engage and contribute to important ICB initiatives that can leverage your experience or provide opportunities for development and personal growth.
Job responsibilities
- Devising the product strategy. This includes:
- Define the product vision and understand the opportunity, considering customer needs, commercial needs, market, competitors, vendors, regulation and business context
- Develop the value proposition
- Create the product strategy by establishing the product goals, how to measure the success, delivered by when
- Identify how the product strategy aligns to the overall ICB OKRs
- Create and own a prioritised product roadmap, translating the product goals into initiatives
- Defining the product. This includes:
- Map customer journeys and/or update the existing journeys based on impact
- Share and achieve alignment with key partners including launch market(s)
- Define MVP (delivers first test of value proposition), validating its scope and achievability considering other deliverables
- Translate roadmap into prioritised team backlogs
- Make sure new ideas have been through discovery process
- Building and launching top quality product
- Together with the team, breakdown the backlog into small increments of deliverables, each with acceptance criteria
- Prioritise the backlog, including negotiation, alignment and interlock of priorities with dependent teams
- Drive development of product artefacts (product definitions, technical implementation, process flows, procedures, testing plans, training materials, etc)
- Ensure completion of product approval stage-gates and documentation
- Deeply partner end-to-end throughout the business to prepare for successful launch/change
- Managing the product in use
- Ensure product delivered adds value to the customer
- Measure the success of the outcome achieved
- Use data from the previous iteration to inform and shape the next one
- Promote a culture of proactive avoidance of incidents
- Continually liaise with relevant Customer Operations colleagues to optimize consumer journeys (via app and offline)
- Monitor and take action to address Voice of Customer (VOC) and ecosystem changes (including regulatory, vendor and internal dependencies)
- Monitor KPIs (including commercial) and take action to achieve them (more efficiently)
- Understand and act on interactions between yours and other products
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Product management experience during the full SDLC
- Experienced gained within Financial Services
- Track record of successful delivery of complex projects in Agile setting
- Experience working with teams that develop and manage back-end services
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience working with databases, KAFKA or GraphQL implementations
