Job description

Step Teachers are working with a school in Romford to recruit an English second in charge Teacher to join their team in September 2023.

This is a "Good" Ofsed-rated school where leaders know their school well. There are rigorous systems to check quality. The priorities for improvement are realistic and based on reliable evidence.

Role:

  • Good knowledge of the English Curriculum

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons

  • Maintain a well-organised classroom and ensure the safe use and storage of all equipment

  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school

  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback

  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification

  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching English

  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management

  • A relevant subject-related degree is desirable

  • SEND experience is desirable
