Job Description


Your team

As a member of the Edinburgh team, you will be part of a collaborative small team of Software Engineers and Business Analysts building high quality solutions to support our existing and new clients.

What you will do

Responsible for analysis and resolution of customer issues and gathering new requirements, you will develop knowledge of how the system works technically as well as functionally. You will work collaboratively with customers to develop solutions to meet market demands.

Following Agile methodologies, you will also work closely with the Product Owner and Software Engineers to design, develop, test and maintain functionality within the team’s responsibility.

Your day-to-day job will include:

  • Collecting & analysing business requirements, evaluate possible scenarios, recommend best business and IT solutions, documenting them in our internal tools (JIRA, Confluence, Service Request platform).
  • Building and designing functionalities to implement business solutions in Avaloq.
  • Troubleshooting customer issues and internal requests, manage client interaction during testing phase, taking care of bug fixing and potential change requests. Provide help resolving issues and answering questions.
  • Supporting developers during implementation and testing of new and existing functionality and bugfixes.
  • Participating in Agile practices and ceremonies and work according to the Agile principles.

Qualifications


What we are looking for

  • Strong track record of working in a similar role, ideally within an Agile environment.
  • Understanding of financial instruments
  • Excellent logical, analytical and problem-solving skills with an eagerness to learn and understand the business needs
  • Knowledge of involved applications to be able to do impact analysis, troubleshooting and/or involve/co-ordinate with other teams
  • You will be a pro-active team player: willing to contribute and help other team members in order to successfully achieve team goals
  • Ideally a University Degree in economics with experience and interest in software development or an education in Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics with an affinity and interest for banking/economics or equivalent education/experience
