We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our Independent Living Service working across Derbyshire and Erewash to help people live independently at home. We’re looking for someone to provide practical and emotional support as well as helping people back on their feet after a fall.

Job requirements

• Provide support to customers helping them to manage their finances, exploring housing options, managing benefit claims, blue badges, assisted bin collections and more.
• Signpost customers to other organisations and agencies for additional support to make sure they have everything they need to live a long, happy life at home.
• On a rota-basis you’ll help people to get back up on their feet after a fall by helping out with our falls recovery service.
• Answering calls and helping customers across Derbyshire, Erewash and the Amber Valley area.

What we’re looking for

• Someone who has previously delivered support to people in people’s homes (desirable, not essential).
• A good awareness of support services for older people locally.
• Good ICT skills.
• Someone who can work across Monday – Friday, 9am-4.30pm.
• The ability to support our falls recovery service, split equally between the team, with each staff member doing up to 7 days on call a month. An additional £25 on call bonus, and a £30 call out bonus will be paid too.
• Someone who is genuine and empathetic.
• Someone who can work on their own using their initiative.
• Someone with their own vehicle suitable for business use.
• Enhanced DBS check.
