Job Description

We are recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager to work within our Anglian Water @One Alliance procurement team based in Peterborough. As part of this role, you will be also collaboratively working with the central procurement team at JN Bentley which in the future may also provide opportunities to experience different parts of the business.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with all key stakeholders across all programme areas and the wider business.
  • Manage the effective and timely procurement of goods and services across the Alliance, whilst maintaining compliance
  • Facilitate the cross transfer of knowledge, lesson learnt and expertise across the different programme areas and the wider supply chain
  • Deliver commercial benefits and exceptional customer service
  • Ensure responsible procurement practices are met and comply with Anglian Water regulations
  • Capture and record benefits within the team
  • Monitoring the issuing of performance scorecards within the supply chain
  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Supplier risk management across all programme areas
  • Category performance management within construction services, construction materials and process plant and equipment.
  • Negotiate of critical goods and services
  • Manage and motivate a team of procurement professionals
  • Compliance management across our supply chain
  • Evaluating opportunities to promote Deliberately Delivering Differently
  • Support tenders, evaluate submissions and make recommendations
  • Networking and stakeholder management across the programme areas in order to develop a consistent approach
  • Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager to optimise opportunities and efficiencies across the supply chain
  • Oversee the development and execution of category strategies within your team
  • Managing and evaluating economic challenges
  • Support the implementation of the new ERP system across the team and wider business
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting for the Head of procurement
  • Support the PR24 process working toward AMP8
  • Support the Aftercare team

Candidate Specification

  • MCIP / CMI qualifications
  • Degree in business or procurement related subjects
  • Good working knowledge of NEC contracting
  • Experience of managing teams – 6 to 8 reports
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholder groups – internal and external to the organisation.
  • Experience of working in commercially challenging environment
  • Supplier development
