• We have a new contract opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to work across an exciting portfolio of UK-leading Defence projects.
• Based in Gloucester in an easily accessible location. Onsite working in Gloucester - 4xFlex
• Clearance: Applicants must have active UK*C DV security clearance.
• Rate: Up to £650 a day Inside IR35 (Dependant on experience)

WHAT WILL THE SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER BE DOING?

This is a challenge for an experienced Senior Software Engineer capable of leading the development and delivery of engaging web, mobile and tablet experiences for our ambitious clients.

• Be a senior and active member of agile development teams as they deliver robust, engaging and usable solutions.
• Take personal responsibility for components’ technical delivery – collaborating with other senior developers and architects to design robust, scalable technical solutions.
• Continually improve our teams’ development processes, practices, tools and techniques.
• Share your knowledge and experience with colleagues as you coach them and mentor them, helping the team to grow their skills, as well as developing your own skills by experimenting with and learning new technologies.
• Encourage innovation, inclusion, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
• Work with clients and internal teams to develop new opportunities and open source projects and initiatives.

WHAT YOUR BACKGROUND MAY LOOK LIKE

Required skills:

• Java and/or JavaScript programming
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Git
• Agile methodologies
• Linux development

Desired skills:

• Automated CI/CD pipelines
• Atlassian toolset (JIRA/Confluence)
• Test-driven development
• Linux administration
