Location: Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter

Assignment: Permanent contract

Salary: £22,000

The role

Working as part of a studio team within a large dynamic marketing team in Exeter, the role of set builder is a very creatively focused and hands on one working as a core team to deliver brochure, lifestyle and product photography for our extensive ranges for both in the UK and export markets. The role also covers the implementation of the company's 'Shop in Shop' showroom concept in retailer showrooms across the UK.

Working closely with the Interior Designer and Photographer, under the support and guidance of the Creative Marketing Manager and Senior Set Builder, the Set builder will ensure both set and showroom designs are created to high standards and in accordance with our busy photography and 'Shop in Shop' schedule.

This role also has the benefit of flexitime working, allowing accumulated hours to be taken as time off when suits.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Building of temporary room sets predominantly in timber and metal stud work and to a lesser extent masonry building in brick and stone.

Tiling of walls and hearths in room sets.

Painting

Decoration and building minor works for retailer showrooms for company's 'Shop in Shop' concept

Following a room set brief given by the Interior Designer including helping to make the sets as realistic as possible

Be responsible for the collection/sometimes returns of fires/stoves, tiles, building materials and props.

Assisting the Designer & Photographer on shoot days

Lifting and moving of stoves and fireplaces within the room sets.

Daily housekeeping of the Studio & materials areas

Skills and experience sought:

Some experience in a DIY or building environment

A valid UK driving licence

Comfortable knowledge of driving a long wheel-based transit van

Experience & understanding of carious power tools and building materials

Creative thinking with a dynamic 'hands-on' approach

Ability to comprehend quickly new tools, equipment, and learning.

Excellent organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills

Excellent interpersonal skills complemented by the enthusiastic attitude required of a real team player

Open to working away - nights away could be up to 3 at a time in succession. An estimate of this to be no more than once a month, with additional single overnight stays in-between.
