SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER – 10+ Years Experience Required

£40,000 - £55,000 + Bonuses

My client has over 75 years of experience within the civil and structural engineering industry and they cover everything from industrial, commercial, retail, educational, ecclesiastical and residential projects for both the public and private sectors and involve steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures, buildings, machine foundations, road and sewer designs.

The role:

My client is looking for an experienced senior civil engineer who has 10 years of similar UK based experience. The successful candidate will be expected to take a job from start to completion, including design and drawings, meeting a client and any site meetings and will be working on projects up to £25 million in value. You would also be encouraged to develop a relationships with existing clients and seek new opportunities. The successful candidate must also have considerable CAD experience.

Duties:

Daily tasks will change depending on the day and the project but can consist of:

· Ability to manage your own projects, from conception to completion.

· Produce calculations for all Structural materials steel, concrete, masonry and timber etc.

· Prepare drawings using Autocad.

· Carry out site visits and attend meetings.

· Selecting appropriate construction materials.

· Providing technical advice to clients and colleagues.

· Liaising with relevant professions as part of the design team.

· Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors.

· Preparing condition reports of existing structure.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, plus minimum of ten years relevant work experience in a similar role.

· MIStructE or MICE or working towards.

· Proficient using AutoCAD.

· Experience of design software such as Tekla TEDDS, Tekla Building Designer, Fastrak Portal or similar.

· Experience designing steelwork and reinforced concrete.

· Decisive with excellent critical thinking skills.

· Good written and verbal communication abilities, including preparing reports.

· Ability to work on your own to deliver a project, from start to completion.
