Working a 4 on, 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern, days & nights, our operation runs constantly so we need you to ensure the DFDS customers receive a top-class welcome on arrival, performing the check-in of unaccompanied trailers to the Export Park as well as the release of trailers from the Import Park. You will need to possess a high level of attention to detail, combined with strong IT skills using Microsoft office and other programs, as you will need to report damage noted, complete damage reports of unaccompanied trailers, and forward to Freight Reservations along with the Claims Department.
Daily tasks will be to ensure the continued delivery of high standards of customer service as part of the operations team, assisting with the loading & discharging of the vessels which involves communication with Port Staff and use of handheld UHF radios. Dealing with hazardous cargo, the associated paperwork and stowage, accordingly, combined with the completion of accurate vessel manifest within a timely manner. You will be asked to liaise with various Authorities & Government Agencies including Border Force for units which are on Customs Holds, so the ability to represent the company in a professional courteous manner at all times is essential.
With an adeptness to multitask, you’ll be working at the heart of the operation therefore, excellent organisational skills are key, combined with the ability to work own your initiative when required.
