Service Care Solutions have an exciting vacancy for an Assistant Parking Services Manager, working for a local authority based in the West Sussex area of Crawley.

The key responsibilities of an Assistant Parking Services Manager will include;

  • Supporting the Parking Services Manager to lead and manage a team of Parking Services Officers to deliver a customer focused Notice Processing and Parking Service.
  • Ensuring that the service always strives to meet its purpose, continuously improving to ensure statutory compliance and to add value to the customer experience.
  • To undertake the full range of Parking Services Officer duties in addition to team leader responsibilities.
  • To deputise for the Parking Services Manager and the Senior Enforcement Officer where required.
  • To oversee the management of off-street parking place management, which includes problem-solving and overseeing regular and reactive maintenance of parking places and digital parking equipment.
  • To line manage the Parking Services Officers, providing excellent team leadership and communication. Responsible for the teams regular 1 to 1's, training and development, motivation, and discipline.
  • To lead on all aspects of penalty charge notice processing, from receipt of notices through to filing witness statements, registering debts with the court leading to full debt recovery or closure of notice.
  • To lead all aspects of the back-office delivery of the WSCC Controlled Parking Enforcement contract to meet performance targets, ensure legal compliance and adopt a continuous service improvement philosophy.
  • Ensure Parking Services Officers are customer focused, well trained and knowledgeable, maintaining excellent records for penalty charge notices, permit and CPZ administration, season tickets and other income transactions.


To qualify for this vacancy, you will be able to demonstrate;

  • Problem solving skills and ability to challenge existing operating practices
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Ability to organise work on a daily basis
  • Ability to know how to deal with a variety of customer facing situations.
  • Ability to carry out the full range of Notice Processing functions
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbally and written
  • IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Packages)
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Good analytical skills
  • The ability to receipt and reconcile cash and card payments
  • Ability to respond to customers calmly, consistently and without prejudice or favour.

This will be a Monday to Friday role working a total of 37 hours a week.

Due to the nature of the role, we are seeking candidates who have a Full UK Driving License.
