Job Description

We’re looking for a Handyperson to join our Facilities management team where you will be covering Plymouth and the surrounding area. Within this role, you will be key to supporting the delivery of a Facilities Management Hard Technical Services solution for our prestigious client, the Ministry of Justice, covering 12 sites(including Approved Premises) in the South-West England & Wales.


Location: Mobile – covering Plymouth and the surrounding area

Contract: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday & callout rota for out of hours & weekends


Responsibilities

As a Handyperson, you’ll be working within the Facilities Management team on our Ministry of Justice contract, supporting them in the delivery of a Hard Technical Services solution.

Your day to day will include:

  • Providing planned & reactive general maintenance across the portfolio

  • You will carry out maintenance such as fixing loose carpet, hanging and re-fixing items to walls, patching paintwork and minor drain blockages, re-fixing door handles, loose hinges/items among other tasks

  • Ad hoc replacement of damaged or faulty locks or associated, including installation of bolts, padlocks etc.


What are we looking for?

This role of Handyperson is great for you if:

  • You have previous experience in a similar all-round general maintenance role and be comfortable working within occupied properties

  • You will need to have outstanding communication skills and a proactive attitude

  • You will need to have a clean driving license, and be willing to work on the call out rota (1 week in 4) which can require evening and weekend callouts
